About the Coffee

Brazil Santos SC14/16 FC is a traditional export-grade coffee, widely recognised for its consistency and versatility. Named after the port of Santos—Brazil’s primary coffee shipping hub—this style represents the foundation of many classic espresso blends around the world.

Selected for its uniform screen size and Fine Cup (FC) classification, this coffee delivers dependable quality and a profile that works seamlessly across a range of roasting styles and brewing methods.

Cultivation and Processing

Grown at elevations between 800 and 1,200 masl, Santos coffees are produced across key regions in Brazil where warm climates and well-defined seasons support steady cherry development.

Most lots are naturally processed, with cherries harvested and dried whole before hulling. This method contributes to the coffee’s characteristic body, sweetness, and nutty chocolate profile.

Common varietals include Mundo Novo, Catuai, and Bourbon, chosen for their resilience, yield, and ability to produce balanced, crowd-pleasing cups.

Brazil’s Coffee Backbone

Brazil Santos has long been considered the backbone of the global coffee trade—valued for its reliability, scale, and approachable flavour profile. Its role in espresso blends is unmatched, providing body, sweetness, and structure without overpowering more expressive components.

For roasters, it remains a go-to origin for building consistency and delivering a familiar, comforting cup that appeals to a broad audience.
