East Timor Maubisse Organic GR2 Washed: Mountain-Grown Purity & Honest Craft
From the cool, rugged highlands of Maubisse, this Organic Grade 2 Washed lot reflects the resilience and dedication of East Timor’s smallholder coffee communities. Grown in remote mountain villages where coffee is often cultivated under natural forest canopy, Maubisse coffees are known for their gentle sweetness, soft acidity, and comforting structure.
Certified organic and carefully prepared, this GR2 selection offers dependable quality while maintaining the rustic charm and authenticity that define Timorese coffee.
Process: Fully washed—ripe cherries are hand-picked, pulped, fermented, and thoroughly washed before drying. This method enhances clarity in the cup while preserving the region’s characteristic softness and balanced profile.
Altitude: Typically 1,400–1,800 masl. The elevated terrain and cool mountain air slow cherry maturation, developing density and layered sweetness.
Harvest & Processing: Smallholder farmers selectively harvest ripe cherries and deliver them to local collection points or washing facilities. After controlled fermentation, beans are washed clean and dried on patios or raised beds. Final grading ensures export-quality standards under the Grade 2 classification.
